I am Jennifer Berry, former ballet dancer and current owner of Berry Pilates.

Welcome to my first blog post!

As a now-retired ballet dancer I know the kind of abuse I put my body through in the name of art. From rigorous practice, unrelenting dieting and countless performances, I asked everything of my muscles and bones, and as the years went by, they let me know it. 

 When I hung up my ballet shoes for the last time I turned to the practice of Pilates to restore my body to health. Today in my studio I help others - many of them dancers - mend injuries, strengthen muscles, and improve their posture on a pathway to an active and healthy lifestyle. 

 In my blog I will talk about specific - even micro - injuries and how I use Pilates to treat them. In doing so I'll probably tell some inside stories about life as a ballet dancer or circus performer. I know them well.
